Our Lady of Guadalupe Youth Programming

What is our Youth Program?

Our programming is designed to help families discover personal relationship with Jesus. Once that relationship comes to life, we support ongoing formation so that members of the family can engage in that relationship and grow in a love of Christ and His church. Our Lady of Guadalupe offers a number of different ministries for young people to experience the Gospel in an age-appropriate manner.

Our Principles

1. Mass Centred Catechesis- It is our goal to have Mass be a crucial part of every young person's formation so that the Mass becomes the centre of the life of the Parish.

2. Relationship Based Catechesis- All that we do is designed to help young people discover their own relationship with Jesus. The primary focus of our programming is for young people to encounter Jesus in a personal way at an age appropriate level.

3. Parent/Guardian Support to Evangelize and Catechize their children- No one knows your kids better than you, and we are here to support you and provide you with an environment that will allow you to grow in your faith and encourage your kids as well. "Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and disinterested service are the rule. The home is well suited for education in the virtues." Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 2223.

4. Dynamic Programming- Our programs are not grade-based or classroom centred. Our goal is to have dynamic and engaging programs based on the age and developmental level of the young people involved and encourage them to prepare for life in the church.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Ages 4 to 6

Young people will be dropped off at the Churchill School 10 minutes before the celebration of Mass at 9AM (8:50am). We will then spend about half an hour learning and growing and having lots of fun. They can engage with the gospel in an age-appropriate way and then return to the parents to celebrate the end of Mass.

Youth Ministry

Ages 12 to 17

On Tuesday evenings  from 6:30-8:00pm, we will have a program for young people to gather and experience the church in a new way. This interactive and high-energy experience will help young people to gain skills they can use in their everyday life and to find practical ways to engage in their faith.

Parents & Youth together

Ages 7 to 11

Between the two morning Masses we will offer a program for parents and young people between the ages of  7 to 11 at the Churchill School from 10:10 am to 10:40 am. The goal of this program is to have kids and parents together to learn about the Sunday readings, and we provide activities they can take home and work on together to keep to discussion going.
